When is the best to visit Sri Lanka?

Generally, Sri Lanka has two monsoon seasons that affect different parts of the island at different times of the year. The southwest monsoon season occurs from May to September, affecting the southwestern and central regions of Sri Lanka, including popular destinations like Colombo, Galle, Ella and Kandy. During this time, these areas experience heavy rainfall, high humidity, and rough seas, making it less ideal for beach activities and outdoor exploration.

The northeast monsoon season occurs from November to February and affects the eastern and northern parts of Sri Lanka, including Trincomalee, Jaffna, and Batticaloa.
